For the second installment of my Friday Five Favorite Finds from Nantucket, we start by visiting the far northeast end of the island. Wauwinet is where the island narrows and curves around with Nantucket bay on one side and the Atlantic a short walk away on the other.…

Happy Fourth of July!

From a quintessential American setting, wishing everyone a very happy Fourth of July! The Nantucket fireworks were last night, and while we didn’t venture into town for the festivities, the spirit was evident island-wide, as everyone from storefronts to iconic rose covered cottages proudly display their red, white and blue!…

For this summer, I am initiating a fun little weekly series, Friday Five Favorite Finds, which I find on my travels out and about on Nantucket. My inaugural offering was made easy as I attended a cocktail reception Thursday evening for the five businesses housed at 2 South Beach Street.…

On the Road

Between short trips on the road and longer island stays, it’s been a busy summer. And I think I’ve set a personal record for the number of ferry rides I’ve completed in one season. But it means there’s lots in the works.…

Shopping Nantucket | Atlantic

Shopping Nantucket offers a plethora of tempting picks and Atlantic, in their spacious new spot on Federal Street, should most definitely be on your list. Longtime summer resident Colleen Darby Wurts originally started her business in a friend’s Sconset garage. After spending the winter picking choice antiques, she did three big summer weekends there and was a resounding success.…
