Rooms with a View Finale

Today we travel back to Connecticut for a Rooms with a View finale. One of the most glamorous vignettes was a gentleman’s lounge designed by Tiffany Eastman. Walls of Farrow and Ball’s Mole’s Breath, a less than enticing name for a sophisticated deep taupe, featured a subtle chevron pattern executed by Topher Carnes of Finishing Impressions.…

Rooms with a View Continued

I love how this year’s Rooms with a View designers really embraced and interpreted the theme of Americanism: Timely and Timeless Design. Carey Karlan, of Last Detail Interior Design, envisioned a family game room representing “the best of American energy, competitiveness and optimism.” Rooms with a View With updated American classics such as the oversized Windsor chairs, modern painted floorcloth by Heidi Holzer and Saarinen table, Carey played with the scale to give a sense of childlike pleasure for the entire family.…

This year’s Rooms with a View 2013 was the 19th year of one of my favorite design events in Connecticut. Originally conceived by Albert Hadley, the popular fundraiser transforms the Southport Congregational Church into a showhouse featuring twelve tiny 5′ x8′  rooms created by local and NYC designers.…
