Singular Soane

Soanesoane showroom with crillon chairs I have followed Soane‘s products for years, ever since I fell in love with their charming Fireside chair, shown below, in The World of Interiors. Recently I had the pleasure of meeting with Sarah Meeke from Soane, who was kind enough to fill me in on the details of the company and some of their latest projects.…

Turkey Tabletop

Before we are catapulted into the “big” holiday of the season, I wanted to pay un petit homage to, what seems this year, to be the orphan child of celebrations. Thanksgiving offers so many lovely decorating opportunities that seem to be somewhat overlooked in favor of the overwhelming holiday coming down the pike.…

I’m Ready

I must admit that although we’ve had several beautiful days, I am definitely tiring of our overly warm November weather and ready for a change in temperature. When I came across this beautifully renovated British home, all I could think of was the allure of cooler days and what is soon in store.…

Holiday Preview

Last night I attended my first holiday event of the season and what a lovely introduction it was! Held at Nielsen’s Florist in Darien, CT, the event was co-hosted by the luxury publication Connecticut Cottages & Gardens. Rooms With A View

I just got back from the Rooms With A View Gala Preview party. Despite the dismal weather, there was a great turnout for this fun evening. There were tons of design stars there from Bunny Williams and David Easton to Tom Filicia and honoree Albert Hadley.…

Penthouse Panache

In researching another post a while back, I came across the remarkable work of Champalimaud Design. Although a full service interior design firm, they are known primarily for their award winning work in the hospitality design sector. Founded by Alexandra Champalimaud twenty-seven years ago, they have completed renovations on hotels, restaurants, and spas around the world from the Carlyle and Algonquin in New York to the stunning suites at the Dorchester in London (one of my favorite projects – the bathrooms are incredible!) to the St.…
