A Cinematic Tribute to Father’s Day

Including fathers in film from Atticus Finch to Darth Vader and many more, this cinematic tribute to Father’s Day represents the full range of emotions that fatherhood entails. From hilarity to heartbreak, you can’t help but be moved by this short mash up of classic moments.  Featured on Slate (where I discovered it), and created by Nelson Carvajal, the video essay ultimately became a reflection on Carvajal’s own relationship with his recently deceased father, who years ago introduced him to the joys of film.

Whether you are celebrating with family or cherishing past memories, here’s wishing you all a very Happy Father’s Day. May the force of fatherly love be with you.
