Le Quatorze Juillet

So today we recognize Bastille Day, le quatorze juillet, with a little red white and blue, French style. I’ve gathered just a few of my iconic French favorites, from a great Côtes du Rhône to the Breton classic Amor Lux (can’t even think how many of these I’ve owned over the years). My bathroom cabinet is never without a tube of Clarins Baume Eclair and the Guerlain Meteorites Voyage is not only beautifully packaged but is a truly flattering formulation – actually the only powder I’ve ever really liked. Every girl needs a great red lipstick and the creamy Chanel Rouge Allure is a perfect pick.

Bonne Maman strawberry preserves is our “house” jam. Straight off the supermarket shelves, it elevates a pb&j as well as a morning English muffin. I only wish these sexy Louboutins fit me – I’ll be jealous if I see any of you sporting them! I love the mix and match patterns in Hermes’ Bleus d’Ailleurs. A set of mugs would be a great gift for any occasion. While I currently carry a smaller wallet, I think these larger zip ones, like this snappy Chloé version are so handy for keeping everything organized in style. Céline makes the chicest totes. This Gusset Cabas in a gorgeous shade of ocean blue might just be going on my wish list for fall. So cheers to le quatorze – I’ll be raising my glass to you today – à votre santé!
