While color is still going strong at High Point, there was also a resurgence of luxe neutrals in ivory, black and gold. One of my favorite new pieces at market was this butler’s table from Baker‘s Lexicon collection. A modern reference to 19th century Patent Furniture (so called because the designs were patented as new inventions for their technological ingenuity), it is a clever convertible piece, perfect for places where space is at a premium.
Fully open, it serves as an elegant console or buffet. In luxurious black lacquer with beautiful brass detailing, it is a timeless piece that would have been right at home in Nick and Nora’s Fifth Avenue abode.
“Paying homage to the origins of Modern theory,” the Lexicon collection is all about craftsmanship, a sophisticated urban scale and luxurious finishes. While I prefer the lacquered version you can see with folded-up walnut version how it reverts to a classic small server, the legs stored in a compact bag.
Another luxurious black and gold piece at Baker is this Michael S Smith Voltaire Server. With elegant retro lines, it is a useful occasional piece that would add a touch of glam to any room.
Thomas Pheasant’s Athens Lounge Chair, presented in a new ivory lacquer with brass fittings, is a luxurious modern ode to the Klismos. You can read about Pheasant’s journey creating the piece on the Baker blog here. I loved the tonal pairing with the taupe suede.
Laura Kirar’s Syro (below left) and Lur (below right) sconces for Baker are understated yet glamorous in brass and gold – the perfect size for a powder room or hall.
I also loved Thomas O’Brien’s new one or two armed Vivan Sconces for Visual Comfort. A nod to the 30’s with modern appeal, these would be lovely bedside, in a bath or formal dining room.
It’s all about the materials and simple elegant lines with Currey’s gold leaf Delano coffee table with ivory marble top.
And the Delano étagères offer a little jewelry-like elegance with their useful versatility
Drexel Heritage‘s sumptuous Salutation Writing Desk, which Style Spotter friend Traci Zeller liked as well, is incredibly elegant.
With a subtle arch for extra legroom, beautiful hardware, feminine legs and fantastic leather detailing, this piece would add timeless style to any office.
Alexa Hampton’s new Alice Desk for Hickory Chair in ivory Beeswing Primavera veneer with handsome brass hardware is a classic workspace exercise in form meeting function. What look like 6 small drawers on either side are actually single doors revealing handy storage – a great way to articulate luxe detailing.
An ivory standout was this chic Pearson Parchment coffee table. With clean modern lines and a luxe mix of materials, this piece could bridge any number of styles.
Mrs. Howard’s new collection for Sherrill includes this classic Paris cocktail table. In light cream vellum, the ivory palette lets the pretty shape shine.
These Century Monarch Barlow tables in ivory with graphic gold inline are a versatile variation on a nesting group. Don’t miss the metal detailing on the feet – it’s a great touch.
Century Grand Tour also included the simple yet elegant ivory Parchment side table, on the left, with lovely tapered legs and seaming details. While intended as a night stand, Drexel Heritage’s ivory Viage, on right, could also function as a side table with storage bonus.
I couldn’t resist including a couple more drinks tables. In sculptural forms, they are like adding gold earrings to a room – Arteriors Home‘s Zeb Corrugated Antique Brass Accent table on the left and Century’s Grand Tour Chairside Table on the right.
So for those who are looking for a serene, elegant palette or a little neutral luxury to add to the mix, there are some great choices coming your way via High Point market.
so timeless, so elegant and so easy to love.

Love, love, love all of them! This is part of why it was so difficult to only select twenty Style Spotter finds! So wonderful to see High Point through your eyes as well, Stacey.
You highlighted great pieces Stacey! I loved seeing Alexa’s new piece at Hickory Chair.

Sorry to have missed you! I caught Lynn over at Hickory Chair, did you attend any events? I had to get home, so I sadly missed Rizzoli. Its always fun to see everyone else’s impressions. I was actually in Currey everyday, so I can’t believe I didn’t run into you.
Best,
Liz
Stacey,
You must have been in design heaven! So many of these pieces feel fresh! Especially love the Visual Comfort sconces, the desk designed by Alexa Hampton and the coffee table by Mrs. Howard! Winners!!!

What an “eye” you have!!! franki
I never met a neutral I didn’t like, Stacey. You brought us such a beautiful grouping here. I think the Alice desk has to be my favorite – although admittedly if it lived at my house, it would probably end up piled with stuff like my current desk! Happy Weekend.
You have an eye for beautiful, luxurious things, Q! This post has so much eye candy and we love your picks.

I love the Bake piece that folds out into a buffet. Really clever and useful. I would love to have one of those for parties. I love things that have more than one purpose. Have a great weekend.

The white leather desk is awesome. I am looking for something very similar to this for a dressing table. I don’t think the leather would be very practical to use every day with make up. Can you help me with locating something like I just described?
Thanks, Becky
