One of the events I am eagerly awaiting this fall starts during Fashion Week on September 14th but extends through January 3rd. It is an exhibit at The Museum of the City of New York entitled Notorious & Notable: 20th Century Women of Style. Co-presented with the National Jewelry Institute, it “highlights 80 prominent New York women who used their style, talent, or wealth to capture the attention of society and the media. The exhibition features a runway of original attire—much of it created by the most important designers of their times—and an impressive selection of jewelry crafted from the dawn of the 20th century to its close.” Doesn’t that sound fabulous?! It features the attire and jewels of such icons as Jackie Kennedy, Babe Paley, Isadora Duncan and Lauren Bacall.
The museum, at 1220 Fifth Avenue at 103rd St., is open Tuesday – Sunday: 10 AM to 5:00 PM. If you are going to be in NYC anytime this fall, here is an event certainly not to be missed.
