In my opinion, the most beautifully made contemporary flatware, meticulously handcrafted in France by family run company Alain Saint-Joanis, who have been making exceptional cutlery since 1876. Through a multi-stage process handled by the expert Alain Saint-Joanis craftsmen, each set is forged, hand-polished and hand-assembled in house.
I have been in love with this Riviera pattern ever since I first saw it at the Dior Home Boutique in Paris almost 10 years ago. Featuring an elegant sculpted olive wood handle, the upper section can be fashioned from either 33 micron silver plate, as shown, or 18/10 stainless steel. Representing the best of French savior-faire, this flatware will enhance your table for years to come.
In 2007, Alain Saint-Joanis was awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label, a guarantee of the savoir-faire passed on for four generations as well as the title of “Atelier d’art de France”, a recognition for their contributions to craftsmanship and l’art de vivre.
