Daniel Porthault created this design, “Fond de la Mer” for the Robert Maxwell yacht in 1986, becoming one of the iconic models of that time. Daniel continued his mother’s legacy, prioritizing polychrome designs inspired by haute couture. In this design, he introduced shimmering colors with slight trace stitching that make fabrics vibrate as well as vivid color patterns to recreate Impressionist paintings. The position of each color was designed to enhance the neighboring colors. Vibrant colors on fine linen entirely hand embroidered appliqué. A very special item for the discriminating collector.
