La Maison Vime
It was in Vallabrègues, a town in Provence bordering the Rhone river between Arles and Sant Rémy de Provence, that Atelier Vime (vime – a French word originating from the Latin word vimen – green wicker) established their now well known design studio. In the 18th century the village was renowned for its products and craftsmanship, boasting over 450 wickerworkers.
And now, the team has announced the first Atelier Vime shop: La Maison Vime, “an Art de Vivre shop entirely dedicated to our work and universe.”
Including their original wicker and rattan collection, tableware, tablecloths and placemats,
antique and vintage offerings,
candles and notebooks and their favorite books on design, craft, gastronomy and nature,
the shop will be open for the summer season, from July 1st until the end of September, 11 am to 7 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. 24, Quai du Rhône, 30300 Vallabrègues . T. o466748702
If you are traveling to Provence, be sure to put the new shop on your agenda – it is most definitely Q Worthy!
And if you have the time and stamina to do a little Instagram search, I interviewed the trio in Paris during Deco Off in 2020. It is in the video tab in my feed (instagram.com/quintessence) – you’ll have to scroll down until you see a gray wicker urn.
Thank goodness artistry such as this…carries on!!!! franki
