Experience, inspire, inform – it’s all about living well with style and substance. After 17 years as an art director in New York City, I left the corporate world for Connecticut with my husband and four children. A continuing love of design led to the creation of this lifestyle blog, a discerning online guide to those special discoveries that make life just that much better. From art and architecture, interiors and design, fashion and jewelry to books and movies, food and wine, travel and more, Quintessence has become a trusted source for well-researched, original content in the online world. Tag along as I attend exclusive events, meet design icons and tastemakers and connect the dots to bring you the story behind the style.
I am the co-creator, producer and editor of Susanna Salk’s and my design video series, have been the co-style editor for the non-profit Women’s Voices for Change, an inaugural member of the BlogTour team at the London Design Festival, a sponsored blogger at many events including the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, High Point Market, La Cienega Design Quarter Legends, Las Vegas World Market, Market Day at the D&D building in New York as well as a speaker and moderator at select design venues.
Quintessence has been featured in Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, flower magazine, House Beautiful, Luxe Magazine and online in Domino, Elle Decor, Lonny, Style At Home, Traditional Home, and the New England Home Magazine blog. It was recently named one of Domino’s 26 favorite design blogs, was the winner of the 2013 Design Bloggers Hall of Fame for best blog, selected by Traditional Home as one of 10 design blogs for the 2012 spring issue of TradHome, named to the DECOREX100, a list of the top 100 international interior design Twitter influencers and was awarded the 2012 American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) HOME Award for outstanding journalism in the new category of social media. Dominique Browning counts it as one of the four new blogs she recommends to her readers, calling Quintessence one of her favorite combinations of brains and beauty.
I’d be delighted if you would join me in my quest for discovering and sharing the best of style and substance. Feel free to also follow along on Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram and YouTube.
