Experience, inspire, inform – it’s all about living well with style and substance. After 17 years as an art director in New York City, I left the corporate world to become a suburban mother of four in Connecticut. My continuing love of design in all categories led to the creation of this lifestyle blog, an online guide to those special discoveries that make life just that much better. From art and architecture, interiors and design, fashion and jewelry to books and movies, food and wine, travel and more, Quintessence has become a trusted source for well-researched original content in the online world. Come with me as I attend design, fashion and lifestyle events, bringing you the story behind the style.
In addition to Quintessence, I am the co-style editor for the non-profit Women’s Voices for Change, a contributor to Cottages & Gardens online and was an inaugural member of the BlogTour team at the London Design Festival. I also accept select speaking engagements from local design venues and luxury real estate groups to Fashion Group International‘s regional director’s conference at Condé Nast, AmericasMart show in Atlanta, High Point market and the D&D Building.
Quintessence has been featured as a lifestyle blog in local publications and online in Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, and the New England Home Magazine blog. It was winner of the 2013 Design Bloggers Hall of Fame for best blog, selected by Traditional Home as one of 10 (out of 500) design blogs for the 2012 spring issue of TradHome, named to the DECOREX100, a list of the top 100 international interior design Twitter influencers and was awarded the 2012 American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) HOME Award for outstanding journalism in the new category of social media. Dominique Browning counts it as one of the four new blogs she recommends to her readers, calling Quintessence one of her favorite combinations of brains and beauty.
I’d be delighted if you would like to join me in my quest for discovering and sharing the best of style and substance. Feel free to also follow along on Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and Instagram. Welcome!!
