For the past few days, I have been honored to be participating in a press trip to Charleston, South Carolina, helping Urban Electric celebrate their tenth anniversary. Their beautiful fixtures are more than merely lights. A product of people and place, they fulfill a vision that celebrates the art of craft, the beauty of the handmade and the importance of community. Understanding the flavor of their city is an important part of the picture. From historic homes, to great food to a welcoming spirit, Charleston is an inspiring city that Urban Electric is proud to call home. Charleston is one of my favorite places in the United States (if not the favorite), and I recognize many of the houses and architectural elements you featured! Some are new to me, though – so beautiful.

Really beautiful pictures. Brings back memories of when I lived back east and visited Charleston. Just walking around and looking at the lovely details on the homes was one of my favorite trips.

Thank you for the southern walk-about, Stacy. A perfect start for this cold and dreary DC day. The wrought iron work is spectacular. The contrasting stone and brick applications are wonderful. And all those window boxes! Has anybody done a window boxes book?
