Exciting News!

As some of you know, I have been very lucky lately here in the blogosphere. So lucky that I am thinking I should be buying a lottery ticket! Many of us enter giveaways online that blogging friends so kindly offer. Sometimes I leave a comment on a friend’s site without intentionally even entering the contest.…

Architecture in the Garden

One of my favorite new finds, also discovered at the Architectural Digest Home Show, is the wonderful British company Architectural Heritage. With all the talk of heritage lately, this service oriented family-run business can truly lay claim to the title. This past Thursday, I attended the Architectural Digest Home Show in NYC. There were many wonderful booths and products both established and new. The best part of the show, however, was finally meeting so many of my blogging and twitter friends in real life.…

Working the Wakefield

Tucked away in an industrial park in Stamford, CT is a wonderful design resource. Last week I attended a fun cocktail reception for the reopening of the Wakefield Design Center co-hosted by Connecticut Cottages & Gardens magazine. They were unveiling their updated trade showroom and new art gallery featuring local and regional artists.…

Where to Keep the Jewels

So I guess you have all now realized that the Set In Style exhibit at the Cooper Hewitt has inspired my week!! After seeing the spectacular Van Cleef jewels, I began to wonder what I would do if I had a valuable collection of baubles.…

To the Manor Born

I am already mourning the end of Downton Abbey. Oh how is it possible that we have in such a short time exhausted each and every episode? And how is it possible that the gentlemanly Julian Fellowes could choose to leave us hanging in such a manner – I would have expected better form!…
